Hydrotherapy Pool Go Ahead & Residency Expansion

With development approval recently granted for the hydrotherapy pool in our Allied Health precinct on Atze Parade in Nuriootpa, the project team at Barossa Village is currently planning the commencement of works.
With development approval recently granted for the hydrotherapy pool in our Allied Health precinct on Atze Parade in Nuriootpa, the project team at Barossa Village is currently planning the commencement of works.
Sharon has been creating art for the last 16 years, and it all started with a moment of uncertainty.
After retiring from work, Sharon was not quite sure what to do with herself. One day she picked up a canvas and some cheap paints from a browsing shop, simply curious to see if she could paint. She soon discovered that she could, and has not looked back since.
For Sharon, the real magic of art has been the people it has brought into her life. She describes the Barossa Village art group as a hidden gem, and finds real excitement in sharing her work and being seen by others. Beyond the connection, she believes it plays an important role in keeping the mind sharp and the hands and eyes coordinated, something she feels matters more and more as we age.

Rita has been creating for as long as she can remember, moving between music, drawing and fabric work over the years.
Portraits have always held a special place for Rita, alongside a love of painting flowers. For her, art has never been about ambition or recognition. It is simply something she has always loved doing, and something that brings her a real sense of fulfilment.
Rita is refreshingly matter of fact about it. She does not create to become known or to chase any particular goal. She does it purely because she enjoys the process, and because she loves being involved in something creative.

Rita was around 80 years old when she picked up painting for the very first time.
Alongside painting, Rita has always kept her hands busy with knitting and crochet. For her, it has never really been about one particular craft. It is about staying active and creating something, rather than sitting still. As Rita puts it, that has just never been for her.
She takes it all in her stride too, with a good sense of humour about the process. Not everything turns out exactly as planned, but that has not stopped her from enjoying every bit of it, or from being genuinely proud when a piece comes together just right.

Moss spent years crafting jazz archtop guitars, violins and mandolins by hand, until health issues meant he could no longer stand at a workbench.
Rather than stepping away from creating altogether, Moss found a new way in. He noticed people around him enjoying painting by numbers and diamond art, and realised it was something he could do sitting down. He has not looked back since.
Moss has found real satisfaction in his diamond art projects, and there is a particular joy in seeing them on display for others to enjoy. He is looking forward to showing his work at Barossa Village and the Joy Rice Centre this year, and is excited to share what he has been able to create.
