COVID FAQs
Q: Can I still visit a family member in residential care?
A: Yes. Mask wearing is mandatory and visitors must book with Reception. Visiting hours are 10.00am -12.00pm and 1.00pm-4.00pm or by agreement with Barossa Village.
Requirements for visiting the Residency are:
- Triple vaccinated against COVID-19, and be vaccinated against influenza
- A negative RAT (test kits are provided outside entry to the Residency) and a temperature check are required
- Must not be self-isolating and/or awaiting for the result of a COVID test
- Must not be a close contact of someone currently COVID-19 positive
- Do not visit if you are feeling unwell
Q: Can I have any services provided in my home?
Yes. Service providers will wear a mask in your home. You should also wear a mask and practice social distancing.
You must notify Barossa Village before a service provider attends your home:
- If you are feeling unwell
- If you are waiting for the result of a COVID test and are self-isolating
- If you are a close contact of a person who has recently tested positive for COVID-19
Q: What if I am feeling unwell?
A: As recommended by SA Health, if you are feeling unwell, or have cold and flu-like symptoms, attend a designated COVID testing clinic in your area, wearing a mask.
If you are concerned about your health, contact your GP clinic for advice. Do not attend medical clinics, pharmacies or emergency departments. In an emergency ring 000.
While you are unwell, you should self-isolate at home.
Q: How do I protect myself if I need to go out?
A: Facemasks are recommended. Hand hygiene is essential and using soap and water or hand sanitiser (at least 70% alcohol to be effective) is the best protection. Avoid touching your face and maintain social distancing while in public spaces.
Q: Should I have people visiting me at home?
A: Social connections are important. If a carer or service provider visits you in your home, they are required wear a face mask. You should also wear a mask during service delivery and practice social distancing where possible.
Q: Can I still volunteer at Barossa Village?
A: Yes. Mask wearing is mandatory and all volunteers must:
- Be triple vaccinated against COVID-19, and be vaccinated against influenza
- Must not be self-isolating and/or awaiting for the result of a COVID test
- Must not attend if a close contact of someone currently COVID-19 positive
- Must not attend if feeling unwell
