Monthly Dementia Support Group

Dementia Support Group

  • When: The last Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am

Caring for a loved one with dementia can be overwhelming, especially when changes in behaviour affect the way we connect. At Barossa Village, we understand the weight of these challenges and are here to support you. Our dementia support group offers a safe, compassionate space where you can connect with others who share similar experiences, listen to your story, and offer understanding.

Together, we are committed to creating more good days for everyone in our community. Here, you’ll find not only comfort but also valuable dementia resources to guide you through the journey. Sometimes, the best support comes from a group of caring people ready to listen, understand, and help.

  • When: First Saturday of each month – next event October 5th and November 2nd
  • Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
  •  Location: The Reusch Center – 24a Murray Street, Nuriootpa SA 5355 (between Bank SA and the Vine Inn).

Join us for our popular Community Markets, where you can immerse yourself in Barossa hand creations and meet local artists. It’s something very special and worth experiencing. Bring the kids and enjoy the morning sunshine while adding value to our residents and community.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy

  • Date: Group Sessions – Every Tuesday
  • Time: Level 3 – 2.45 pm | Level 2 – 3.15 pm | Level 1 – 3.45 pm
  • Location: Barossa Village Residency – Hydrotherapy Pool,  Atze Parade, Nuriootpa, SA 5355

Class Levels

Level 1 – 3.45 pm: Uses the rail, supports, and warm water for healing and flexibility training. Ideal for pool introduction, and vision- or mobility-impaired individuals seeking hydrotherapy benefits

Level 2 – 3.15 pm: Builds on Level 1 by introducing additional equipment and floats, increasing water movement to support confidence and provide continued benefits.

Level 3 – 2.45 pm: Emphasises dynamic movement with an aerobic feel, using floats and equipment to empower individuals to improve their overall fitness and confidence.

Benefits of Hydrotherapy:

Hydrotherapy provides numerous benefits, including easing joint strain, enhancing balance and coordination, alleviating discomfort, and promoting nervous system relaxation, which fosters greater confidence in the water.

  • Time: 2 classes – 9:00 am or 10:300 am

Come and join in exercises that support your everyday life; it’s a fun way to keep moving. Located at the Residency in the Gym and held every Tuesday morning, come and see for yourself. So, what are the benefits of joining a group session? Let’s begin by saying it’s a chance to meet people like yourself who wish to maintain strength, flexibility and balance. It’s also a great way to meet new people and build on existing ones. You are motivated to keep going and less likely to bail out as you agree to meet others at the gym, not only for a workout but also for a chance to chat. Socialising while working out makes you feel good.

Friday Art Group

Friday Arts & Crafts

  • Date: Every Friday
  • Time: 3:00 to 4:30 pm

Please note:

Barossa Village management asks you to contact reception staff when visiting the Residency regarding reconditions around wearing masks.

The reception staff will also advise if there are any areas where residents have infectious conditions and the precautions that need to be taken to enter these areas.

At the Residency, visiting hours are maintained to 10 am – 12 noon and 1 pm – 5 pm (outside of these hours to be negotiated).

Visiting hours allow residents to have care and services attended to support their dignity.
