Volunteering

Why Volunteer with Us?

At Barossa Village, our volunteers are the heart of our community, bringing joy and companionship to our elderly residents. Volunteering makes a special difference in the lives of those who need it most, providing not just a service but friendship and support.

Build Meaningful Connections

Develop lasting relationships with our residents. Our program matches volunteers with individuals based on shared interests and backgrounds, ensuring a meaningful and rewarding experience for both.

Make a Real Impact

Your time and compassion can transform the lives of our residents, many of whom may feel isolated. Whether through a friendly chat, a walk in the garden, or sharing a hobby, your presence can brighten their day and bring a smile to their face.

Flexible Opportunities

We offer a variety of volunteer roles to suit your interests and schedule. Whether you prefer one-on-one visits, group activities, or assisting with events, we have a place for you.

What You'll Do

As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to:
  • Engage in Visits: Spend quality time with residents, either at their homes or in our facility.
  • Participate in Outings: Accompany residents to local cafes, galleries, or parks.
  • Support Hobbies: Help with activities like gardening, crafts, or reading.
  • Facilitate Social Events: Assist with organising and running community groups and social gatherings.

UPDATES

Please note:

Barossa Village management asks you to contact reception staff when visiting the Residency regarding reconditions around wearing masks.

The reception staff will also advise if there are any areas where residents have infectious conditions and the precautions that need to be taken to enter these areas.

At the Residency, visiting hours are maintained to 10 am – 12 noon and 1 pm – 5 pm (outside of these hours to be negotiated).

Visiting hours allow residents to have care and services attended to support their dignity.

Thank you for helping us keep our community safe and healthy. We appreciate your support.
