Karen and Sue run All Hounds on Deck Doggy Daycare, and this year they're bringing something a little different to the Barossa Village art scene, dog paw print art.
Using peanut butter or Greek yoghurt as their "paint" of choice, the dogs leave their own unique mark on canvas and paper, creating fridge magnets and keepsakes the whole family can enjoy. It has become a favourite with the parents who bring their pups in for daycare, especially around occasions like Mother's Day.
For Karen and Sue, being part of the Barossa Village community and getting to showcase what they do with the dogs is something they genuinely value. It is a fun, playful reminder that creativity comes in all forms, and that community is at the heart of it all.
Come see this year's SALA exhibition, paw prints included, at the Barossa Village Main Exhibition, 3–31 August, 14 Scholz Ave, Nuriootpa. Open Mon–Fri, 8:30am–4:30pm.

Barbara has been painting for around 40 years, and in just the last 12 months has picked up a brand new craft, making miniature houses.
She describes the process as one that comes together naturally once you start, deciding where the windows go and whether they should be open or shut. But painting remains her first love, and everyone has their own favourite subject. For Barbara, that is chooks. She simply loves painting them.
Barbara is quietly proud of the work she puts in, and while she says the effort itself is beside the point, there is something special about having someone see what she has created and comment on it.
Come meet Barbara and see her work at the Barossa Village Main Exhibition, 3–31 August, 14 Scholz Ave, Nuriootpa. Open Mon–Fri, 8:30am–4:30pm.

Julie has called Barossa Village home for four years, and these days her hobby of choice is diamond art.
While she has stepped back from cross stitch for now, Julie has found real satisfaction in diamond art. She loves how relaxing it is, and how quickly you can see a result take shape. She never used to think of herself as an artist, but these days she is genuinely proud of what she creates.
On Fridays, Julie joins the art group, where she is not alone in her love of diamond art. A few others share the same hobby, and it has become a wonderful way for her to stay active and connected.
Come meet Julie and see her work at the Barossa Village Main Exhibition, 3–31 August, 14 Scholz Ave, Nuriootpa. Open Mon–Fri, 8:30am–4:30pm.

Jean retired nearly nine years ago and threw herself into voluntary work, before deciding it was time to try something just for her.
Jean picked up diamond art and dot art, telling herself that anyone can give something new a go if they put their mind to it. It is as simple as talking to people, finding out what is out there, and choosing something that feels right.
She has found it genuinely relaxing, and admits she never expected to have her own work on display. Jean does her shopping at Rossafresh, and knowing her art will be on show right there fills her with excitement. She cannot wait to see it all come together.
Come meet Jean and see her work at the Barossa Village Main Exhibition, 3–31 August, 14 Scholz Ave, Nuriootpa. Open Mon–Fri, 8:30am–4:30pm.
