COVID Directions & Requirements

Visiting the Residency

From December 6, 2021, a person cannot enter an aged care facility unless they have received two COVID vaccinations or have a medical exemption. This applies to ALL staff, residents, visitors, contractors, and volunteers.

Prior to entering the Residency, you will be required to present evidence of your vaccination unless you have previously provided Barossa Village with these details.

Please support our Administration team by having this information ready to present on the day of your visit, or in advance.

Mask wearing is mandatory.

Provision of Care and Services in your Home & Volunteering

From November 30, 2021, a person cannot provide in-home and community aged care services unless they have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine,  have evidence of a booking to receive their second dose of a COVID19 vaccine, or have a medical exemption.  A worker includes sub-contractors and volunteers.

Mask wearing is mandatory.

For receiving care in your home or attending an activity, you must notify Barossa Village:

  • If you are feeling unwell
  • If you are waiting for the result of a COVID test and are self-isolating
  • If you have visited an exposure site and are quarantining
  • If you are a close contact of a person who has visited an exposure site

The Village Op Shop now has a donations bin located at the back of the Arthur and Gladys Reusch Community Centre in Nuriootpa. - we'll happily accept clothing, books, games and homewares that are in good condition.

All proceeds from the Village Op Shop go toward funding our scholarship programs which facilitate care and nursing career pathways at Barossa Village.

Join us for our Residents and Friends markets this Saturday (13 August) at the Reusch community centre from 9am til 1pm where you'll find a range of handmade wears, along with various brick-a-brac stalls.

If Winter turns on the cold, wet weather the event will be moved inside the hall at the rear of the centre.

COVID-19 Update

To enter our residential aged care facility ALL staff, residents, visitors, contractors and volunteers must:

  • be able to demonstrate that they have had THREE COVID vaccinations and the Annual Flu Vaccination (or have a medical exemption);
  • produce a negative RAT kit result at time of entry. Kits are provided on arrival; and
  • wear necessary PPE (eg: mask) and adhere to any other instructions as may be requested by our staff.
