Di says one thing has become very clear to her: age truly is just a number. Seeing residents each day has shown her that age doesn’t limit what people can do, learn, or enjoy. Laughter, curiosity, and a willingness to try something new are part of everyday life here.
Community is at the heart of it all. Shared experiences, learning together, and time spent side by side matter deeply. Di says some of her most meaningful moments are when residents return from day trips, full of stories, smiles, and a genuine sense of gratitude for the community they’re part of.
Looking around, she sees real connection, shared joy, and a deep sense of care between residents and community members alike.
Wellbeing at Barossa Village is shaped around each person, supporting them in ways that feel right for where they’re at.
Through the Fitness for Life group, our residents are gently encouraged to try things they once thought were out of reach. Angela shared that she’s even surprised herself, discovering she can do more than she ever imagined!
Along the way, our residents have formed friendships and grown their confidence. There’s a real sense of encouragement in the room, and a shared feeling of pride in what’s been achieved together!
Moments like these remind us how powerful support, connection, and belief can be.
